ETIENNE JULIEN - PORTFOLIO

The LAURA CRAFT project is a project by the audiovisual and multimedia specialty group of INSA Hauts-de-France. Its goal is to create a mini stagecraft using equipment intended for the general public :

• a LCD Television
• a smartphone for the camera tracking
• infrared diodes
• a computer with "chataigne" and "blender" software for respectively the OSC message receiver and the 3D scene
• 4K camera and audiovisual material

Stagecraft is a visual effects technology for virtual production on set, consisting of high-definition LED video walls and floor. It allows actors to perform in front of a real-time virtual environment, enabling the creation of more realistic and immersive scenes.

In this project, i'm in charge of the communication between the smartphone and the computer. I have worked with several people who are in charge of recover the smartphone data and people who made 3D environnement in Blender. I have worked with numerous solution as a wiimote, a smartphone, "chataigne" software and Blender.

With our work, we initiated the project. Our goal was to have the audiovisual production students create a mini advertisement clip using the solution we set up. The objectives were to achieve diffuse lighting with the screen, camera tracking, and fairly simple usage conditions. We didn’t fully succeed in optimizing these conditions, but it worked. In the future, the next generation of students in our program will continue our work. That’s why I have created several documents about my work.
